"It seemed to me I stood by the iron gate leading to the drive, and for a while I could not enter for the way was barred to me. Then, like all dreamers, I was possessed of a sudden with supernatural powers and passed like a spirit through the barrier before me." --

My name is Stephanie. Pleasure to meet you!

Last night, I dreamt I went to Manderley again.

My dad’s sitting here complaining that a woman in his workplace wants someone to walk out with her to her car
at night. He’s saying if this is “the era of equality” then why is nobody concerned about him walking out alone? It’s not a fucking privilege that we often desire someone to walk with us because we’re scared. You know what? I fucking wish I had the luxury of not worrying about whether or not I’m going to get raped or some shit. For a man with two daughters, you think he’d understand.

Because men have absolutely no need...attacked. Oh no.
  2. unkamatt said: Ha, while that’s funny, did you point out that it’s because as a man he’s seen as a threat, thus less likely to get attacked and raped? It has to do with us being men, not a sexist remark. We’re the protectors, from when first man walked to now.
